Roe & Sika deer stalking
Deer Stalking in Eskdalemuir, Scotland Eskdale Wood & Wildlife Management (EWWM) currently manages over 12.5KHa of commercial woodland centred on Eskdalemuir Forest in the Scottish Borders. This forest was originally designed by Ronnie Rose MBE, Churchill Fellow and is famous for its open valleys and control areas on soil types which are preferred by all the deer species.

The main forest block is well into the harvesting/restock phase which gives EWWM the opportunity to further improve the existing forest design features. We have over 100 highseats/shooting boxes which are sited on the important deer control areas.

The roe cull is currently 450/500 deer per year and circa. 15/20 sika are culled at another forest complex which is under EWWM management. A client usually shoots 3-4 bucks in a week but success depends on weather and client's stalking ability etc.

Deer Stalking in Eskdalemuir, Scotland EWWM currently manages an area of forest within the Borders Sika Deer Management Group. These sika originate from the famous Dawyick herd at Peebles with some of the stags culled being in the medal classes.

There are two main periods of the year when movement of the sika is at a peak and subsequently the opportunity for culling these elusive deer is increased. One period is from the end of September through to the middle of October, which covers the rutting period. The other period is in March when feeding activity is at a peak.

Stalking for sika is a waiting game! Clients are placed in strategically placed highseats, which overlook favourite crossing places. Sika do not offer much time for decision making so clients should be fairly experienced before having a go at this type of stalking.

Sika Stalking/Trophy Fees * Fees include VAT

General Stalking Fee of £35* per outing
Stag trophy fees of £25* per tine point.
£35* for a hind. £300 (Mon-Fri)
